Area Outside of Proclamation Monument Cleaned

Approaching the 70th Independence Day, the area outside of Proclamation Monument, Jalan Proklamasi, Central Jakarta, was cleaned, Friday (8/14). As many as 170 joint personnel of Infrastructure and Public Facilities Handling (PPSU), Bina Marga and Water Management Department officers were deployed in this cleaning action. 

Street vendors' stalls along the outside of monument will also be demolished thus the location will be clean when the Independence Day ceremony

Assistant of Economic and Administration for Central Jakarta Adminisration, Sulastri Gultom who led the action stated, the arrangement will gradually be done after Pattern Building Management is handed over to the Government. 

"We conduct the arrangement. Then eventually street vendors will sell along Jalan Penataran, and parking ban sign will be installed particularly on Jalan Bonang, car wash business on Jalan Penataran will also be moved thus it would not make the historical area looks dirty," he explained.

Pegangsaan Urban Village Head, Asep Mulyaman added, the cleaning itself is conducted as waste left by street vendors are still scattered on the location. Besides that, the water channel will also be cleaned. 

"Street vendors' stalls along the outside of monument will also be demolished thus the location will be clean when the Independence Day ceremony," he stated.
